G'day! I'm Ally

I’m a freelance graphic and web designer, working in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, Australia.

My love of computers harks back to the days of MS-DOS and floppy disks. I spent half my childhood “Photoshopping” myself and my sister into fairytale and fantasy settings using Microsoft Paint – badly. At 11 I took my first HTML course (also provided on a floppy disk!).

The freelance life wasn’t ever something I planned, but looking back, it’s the perfect choice for me, combining all of my interests (and the ability to spend entire workdays in my pyjamas with a cat on my lap).

I love meeting new clients and hearing about the amazing ideas they’re putting into practice, and how I can assist with those ideas. Let’s build something together!

I love all aspects of design, but especially:

Book covers and marketing materials for authors
Annual report layout and design for companies
Large format signage for expos and conferences
Simple, clean 'brochure' websites that turn the curious into customers
Researching and implementing software solutions to help businesses run at their best

Outside of my freelance life:

I live on a rural property with lots of animals
I’ll cross an eight-lane motorway just to pat a dog
You’ll often find me with a face full of Eggs Benedict or a burrito
I’m a Rabbitohs supporter (otherwise I’ll risk being disowned!)
I’m interested in self development, psychology and neuroscience – especially the link between the brain and technology
